Varsity Coach
Rachel Paul is going into her 10th year coaching the Varsity Cheerleading squad at Notre Dame. Under her direction, the cheerleaders have won four National Championships – in 2003, 2006, 2008, and 2010. Rachel also teaches dance at Notre Dame and is the dance instructor for the Irish Knight Band Dance & Flag Team. A UCLA graduate, Rachel was a member and captain of the nationally-ranked UCLA Dance Team from 1997-2000 and Head Coach from 2002 to 2008. For the past four years, she has been on the faculty of Los Angeles Valley College as director and coach of the Monarch Spirit Dance Team. Rachel has a Masters in Dance from Cal State Long Beach and is a long-time choreographer and competition judge for the United Spirit Association.

Hayley Amber Montroy |
Junior Varsity Coach
Hayley Amber Montroy is returning after a successful first year as the Junior Varsity Cheer Coach at Notre Dame. Under her leadership, the 2011 JV Squad took 2nd place in the National Show Cheer Intermediate Division, missing the National Title by less than 1/3 of a percentage point. A San Fernando Valley native, she grew up as a competitive gymnast and high school cheerleader and went on to earn her degree in Print Journalism from UNLV. She was on the nationally-ranked cheer team at UNLV. Hayley is pursuing a second degree in Marriage and Family in order to work with young girls and athletes who suffer with eating disorders, as well as working towards a Masters in teaching. In her free time you will find her covering big sporting events for Hollywood Today, working out and training clients! Go Knights!
