Practice Schedule

Generally, the debate team will hold the following practices after school unless there is a tournament or other conflict as determined by the Director of Debate:

Every Tuesday from 3:00 - 5:00pm is novice practice day. Varsity members and a coach or the Director will be at practice to facilitate work on speaking and flowing as well as lectures on basic argument strategy.  If you are considering doing debate at Notre Dame High School, Tuesdays immediately after school are the best days to come in to talk to varsity members and/or a coach.

Every Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:30pm is varsity policy practice day.  A coach and/or the Director will be at practice to facilitate work on speaking and flowing as well as lectures on advanced argument strategy. Novice debaters are encouraged to watch and participate in the practices to generate a better understanding for policy debate.
 
Select Thursdays are for individual speaking sessions with the Director of Debate. Students can set-up half hour meetings on certain Thursday afternoons to complete speaking work with Ms. Tallungan on an individual basis.  Students should sign-up for these half hour sessions in the debate room.
