The AP Studio Art class installed their mini retrospective exhibit in Burns Hall Gallery on March 25, 2014. It will be on view until April 6, at which time the portfolios will be completed and ship off to AP grading. It is impressive work and the culmination of 3-4 years of visual arts.



Philosophy
 
To provide the students with an understanding of, and appreciation for the various aesthetic and disciplinary elements involved in the production of finished artwork, theatre, dance or musical performance. To provide a basis from which the student will maintain a life-long appreciation of the fine and performing arts.
 
Basic philosophical assumptions:
 
·The arts teach students a common core of knowledge

·The arts connect students to their creative core

·The arts develop and refine students’ sensibilities

·The arts enable students to express their own creativity and experience moments of freedom, satisfaction and accomplishment

·The arts require both an understanding of personal discipline and a commitment to ensemble
