To participate in the full day program students will register for both a morning and afternoon class and then add the appropriate full-day option to their cart.  There is no additional fee for the full day program. Some programs may have an additional book or material fee. Students participating in the full day program must sign up for both a morning and an afternoon program from the options available and add the full day option for the corresponding week to their cart.
    A $50 non-refundable registration fee is included in the cost of each camp or program session. Refunds, minus the non-refundable registration fee, are available until Sunday, one full week prior to the start of each camp or program.  Refunds are not available after this point for any reason.
    After May 28, 2023, there will be a late registration fee of $50 for all camps and programs, provided there are spaces still available. The late fee will automatically be added to the course fee during the online checkout.
    Students that enroll in individual programs may arrive only 10 minutes before the class begins and be picked up promptly after the end of the program.  Students in the full day program are provided supervision and activities during the extended hours.

    Students entering 5th- 8th grade, who are enrolled in camps and enrichment courses, are encouraged to attend all days to take full advantage of their summer opportunities; however, attendance is more flexible for enrichment courses because none of the camps and programs are credit-bearing. In the event that your child is going to be absent due to a planned appointment or vacation, please contact summerknights@ndhs.org and the course instructor to discuss the situation. Please be advised, however, that we will not prorate tuition for camps and enrichment classes.

    Courses listed are subject to change based on enrollment numbers.  You will be notified of any changes or cancellations to the courses you are enrolled in.  Please register early and share with friends in order to help ensure adequate numbers are reached by the normal registration closure.

    Students will receive a welcome email to the address provided during registration from their instructor by the Friday before the course begins.

  • Cancellation of Classes

    • In the event that NDHS needs to cancel a class, students will receive a full refund including the registration fee. We reserve the right to cancel a class at any time.
  • Grades, Grade Reporting, and Course Credit

    • No grades or course credit are awarded for camps or enrichment courses for a student entering grades 5-8.
    • Summer school grades for NDHS students will be posted online via the school’s Student Information System (SIS). NDHS summer school grades are included on the NDHS transcript and are calculated in the NDHS GPA.
    • Credit-bearing high school courses are not available to non-Notre Dame students.
    • Semester-long courses receive 5 units of credit and yearlong courses receive 10 units of credit. Courses that are UC/CSU approved are indicated in the course description.
  • Student Behavioral Expectations

    In order for a student to be successful at Notre Dame it is essential that a spirit of cooperation, trust, and support exist between the school and the parents. The registration of students in the Summer Knights program at Notre Dame High School is deemed to be an agreement on their part, and on the part of their parents or guardians, to comply fully with all policies, rules, and regulations of the school as outlined in the dress code policy and these expectations of student behavior.  Should a student or family find that they are unable to comply with school policies or expectations they will be required to withdraw their student from the summer program and any tuition or fees that have been paid will be subject to the refund policy as outlined above.

    Notre Dame expects our students to be young men and women of integrity, therefore the following behavior is grounds for immediate dismissal from the summer program:
    • Plagiarism, cheating, theft, profanity, dishonesty or rudeness to a faculty, staff member or other adult;
    • Misuse of technology, including downloading or distribution of hate literature or pornography;
    • Fighting, bullying, sexting, or harassment of any kind including online;
    • Possession or use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco, including “vaping” products;
    • Possession or use of fireworks, firecrackers, weapons of any kind--including airsoft or bb guns on or near the campus;
    • Acts of vandalism (i.e. graffiti, writing on desks, tables, walls, etc.); fighting;
    • And any behavior that is inconsistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church or the Mission of Notre Dame High School.
  • Dress Code

    • Students are not required to wear uniforms but must dress modestly and exercise good judgment in choosing their attire. Shorts, t-shirts, sweats, and jeans are all acceptable.
    • Clothes should not be ripped, torn, excessively revealing, too tight, or sagging.
    • No tank tops, low-cut t-shirts, bare midriffs, backless shirts, or strapless tops.
    • No clothing with inappropriate (i.e. alcohol or drug-related, gang-related, sexually explicit) messages, logos, phrases, etc.
    • Shoes or sandals must be worn at all times.
    • No unusual hair color, body piercings, tattoos. Boys must be clean-shaven.

  • Transportation, Parking, Drop-off and Pick-up

    • The school bus service doesn’t operate during the summer months, so you may wish to arrange carpools or consider public transportation.
    • Student drivers must display a school-issued parking permit on their vehicle at all times. See one of the deans for a parking permit if you do not have one.
    • Parent and Student drivers must refrain from cell phone use during drop-off and pick-up unless they are parked. There are many small children on campus during the summer months and they have a tendency to run out into the parking lot without checking to see if it is safe to do so. Please drive slowly and remain vigilant.
    • Most parking spots on campus are assigned so please don’t pull into one even “just for a minute.” If you must park please ask the guard to direct you to a visitor spot.
    • Morning drop-off is very crowded so please give yourself ample time in the morning.
    • Drop-off in the Riverside lot provides a safe and supervised drop-off location for your student. Enter from Riverside Drive, pull up near the speed limit sign to let your student exit quickly and then proceed to Huston Street. Turn right onto Huston.
    • To drop off on Riverside Drive, heading west, pull as far forward as possible. Do not block the entrance to the Riverside parking lot and do not stop on a red curb. Do not make a U-turn on Riverside.
    • The Woodman lot is very congested in the morning and drop-off is discouraged. However, drop-off is allowed along the red curb on the south side of the lot. Pull as far forward as you can and have your student exit the car quickly. Do not double park to drop-off.
    • If you drop-off along Huston, pull over to the curb, please do not block traffic. Do not make a left from Huston onto the Annex Road. Also, do not stop near the Riverside parking lot exit.
    • Do not drop off in the red bus zone on Woodman. We have been informed that citations will be issued in the amount of $255.
    • Please remind your students not to jaywalk. Students must use crosswalks.
    • Remember that curbs near driveways are painted red for a reason: no parking, please. A car parked too near a driveway completely blocks visibility. Help us be good neighbors to those who live near our campus.
  • Food Service

    Lunch will not be provided, and off-campus or delivery options can not be accommodated.

    Please send lunch and any required snacks with your student if they are participating in the full-day program.

  • What To Do In the Event of an Emergency During Summer School

    • If you have a family emergency during school hours, please call the main school number at (818) 933-3600 and listen for the prompt or stay on the line to speak with someone.
    • NDHS faculty and staff practice emergency preparedness drills every month. In the event of an emergency or disaster (i.e. earthquake or fire) we are responsible for the safety and security of students.
    • Students will only be released according to the instructions you have provided, and to the adults you have listed, on your Emergency/Medical Information Sheet.
    • Please make sure you review these instructions with your child prior to the first day of summer program.
    • During an emergency situation we must keep phone lines open to communicate with emergency and other governmental agencies so please do not contact the school. Stay by your phone and keep checking your email as we will try to contact you with an update as soon as we can. Please stay calm, be patient, and give us time to make sure that all students are safe and accounted for--that is our first priority.
    • If you are en route to campus during an emergency situation please park off-campus and proceed to any of the gates adjacent to the football field. We will be setting up our command post to release students from the field unless authorities advise us at the time that it is unsafe to do so. No student will be released without the signature of an authorized adult!
