Coach's Message
The Notre Dame girls' golf program prides itself on working hard, having fun, and bringing out the best in each other - and winning championships happens to be the by-product of these things.
Our history includes 13 Mission League Championships, 3 CIF Divisional Championships, CIF Team Runner-up (2019) and several tournament wins. In addition, the MVP of the league has been a Notre Dame golfer 14 times since 1999, which was the first year of the Mission League girls’ golf program.
The young ladies who go through the program dedicate themselves to taking lessons, playing tournaments year-round, and participating in the off-season conditioning program while maintaining good grades. Golfers develop excellent time management skills, patience, determination, and most of all a high level of integrity. Many of our alumnae have gone on to play college golf (U of New Mexico, UC Riverside, Boston College, U of Northern Colorado, Lewis and Clark, Macalester College, CSUN, UC Irvine, George Fox University, Cal Poly SLO), but even those who don’t take with them a love for the game that will stay with them forever. Participating in golf prepares the girls to be successful in all aspects of their future lives.
Golf is traditionally an individual sport, but here at ND, competing for and with teammates adds a whole new dimension to one's performance. It's like the Solheim Cup all season long! Getting to know and trust each other, along with the shared love of the game develops life long friendships. We are proud of our reputation as a consistently strong team who loves each other and are great people to play a round of golf with.
