5TH-8TH GRADE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Notre Dame High School is offering a 4 week full day enrichment program for 5th-8th graders that will give young people the opportunity to explore their academic and creative interests.
 
Dates: June 24-July 19
Time: 8:30am-2:45pm
Cost: $400 (about $22/day)
 
Daily Schedule:
8:30 am-10:20 am Block A
10:25 am-12:15 pm Block B
12:15 pm-12:55 pm Lunch
12:55 pm-2:45 pm Block C


Middle School Enrichment Camps

Notre Dame High School’s Debate and Film programs are offering their own enrichment camps for students interested in exploring their passions in these areas. Below are the descriptions for each camp.

  • Middle School Filmamking Camp

    Middle School Filmmaking Camp
    Dates: June 17-21 (no camp on June 19)
    Time: 9:30 am - 2:45 pm
    Cost: $400

    Course Description: Throughout the class students will learn the most basic forms of pre-production, film production, and post production. From how to properly record video and  audio systems to the editing using Adobe Premiere, students will go through the whole 3 production processes and create their own short film.

  • MIddle School Debate Camp

    Middle School Debate Camp
    Date: July 15-19, 2024
    Time: 9:30 am - 2:45 pm
    Cost: $500

    Course Description: Does your son or daughter love to argue? Or do they want help shaking off shyness? Send them to train with the nationally and internationally competitive Notre Dame Debate Team! Students will work on logical thinking, research, and public speaking skills. Each student will also be able to show parents a video recording of their progress at the end of the camp and will participate in a culminating debate scrimmage at the end of the week. 
    During this one-week camp, students will learn all the debate basics, including managing public speaking anxiety, identifying parts of an argument and techniques to respond effectively, delivering speeches purposefully with inflection, and researching credible support for cases. On Thursday, students will compete in a debate scrimmage at Notre Dame. On Friday, students will take a field trip to the Reagan Library in Simi Valley to apply their debate skills in a real-world simulation of presidential decision-making and then will present a final exhibition debate for a public audience. Parents are welcome to attend this field trip.
