September 2024 Blood Drive
The Christian Service program, Catholic Relief Services Club (CRS), and The Red Cross Club want to thank The Red Cross for being awesome partners for our Fall blood drive! This was a whole community event that exceeded expectations, saving lives one donation at a time!
Debate Places 3rd
ND Debate competed at Damien HS this past weekend. Varsity policy and World School Debate placed 3rd overall. Novice policy had 3 teams in the top 16. The team also won 11 speaker awards in all three divisions, including Riley Apice who won World School top speaker.
Additionally, Sarah Martin was honored with the Nadeem Farooqi Excellence Memorial Award, which recognizes the kindness and competitive contributions of Damien alumnus Nadeem Farooqi, who passed away in Dec. 2020. This award includes a $1000 scholarship for Sarah to put toward her college education. Mrs. Phillips was awarded the Clara Shortridge Foltz Award, which commemorates the inclusion of students from Damien's sister school, St. Lucy's Priory, into the debate community and to recognize the vital contributions women make in debate.
