STUDENT LIFE

Television and Film

Television and Film courses allow students to develop and apply knowledge of artistic principles and gain technical skills in film and television production. By studying award-winning films and videos, students learn the fundamentals of visual art as they apply to film and television, and produce their own original short video projects using industry-standard equipment and software.

Students experience how actual television broadcasts are produced, directed, and put on the air, while also training to take on supervisory roles in the production of NDTV, the school’s weekly broadcast news program. Students are responsible for planning, designing, shooting, editing, distributing, and exhibiting their work while developing artistically, and intellectually while managing aesthetic and logistical challenges.

NDTV is a student-run production at Notre Dame High School.
