The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion supports our mission to educate the hearts and minds of students diverse in ethnicity, talent, and culture.
We want to take a moment to reflect on the values that underpin our Catholic, Holy Cross community. At Notre Dame High School, we believe in creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported. With this in mind, we place significant interest in the integration of DEI work in all facets of the school community.
Notre Dame recognizes that the strength of our community lies in our diversity - in our different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. We are committed to creating a space where everyone's unique identity is celebrated and where all members of our community feel seen, valued, and heard. This includes a holistic approach to students' spiritual, intellectual, and social formation- to serve the world's evolving needs.
At Notre Dame, we believe that equity is essential to creating a just society. We are committed to addressing systems of oppression and working towards creating a level playing field for all students, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances. We believe in creating an inclusive environment that recognizes and embraces the intersections of identities. We educate students on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and embolden students to put those teachings into practice by making moral and ethical decisions rooted in Gospel values.
We recognize this work is ongoing and requires continuous evaluation and improvement. We are committed to working collaboratively with our NDHS students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Notre Dame to create an environment that promotes a sense of belonging for everyone in our community.
We invite you to join us in this work. We encourage you to share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences with us as we work together toward creating a more equitable and inclusive school community. We believe that it is only through working together that we create a world Blessed Father Basil Moreau envisioned.
