  • Payment Plans

Notre Dame seeks students who aspire to academic excellence, personal growth, and active participation in school activities.

Our affordability program is based on the belief that students willing to meet the challenge of a college-preparatory education should be given the opportunity to pursue their goals without regard to their family’s financial status.

Notre Dame offers three payment plan options for paying tuition: one-payment, two-payment, or ten-payment options.

    Option I
Single payment of full year’s tuition due June 30.

    Option II
Tuition is divided into two payments, due June 30 and November 30.

    Option III
Ten monthly payments beginning in June and ending in March. A 4% service charge applies to monthly payments unless a family has been awarded a partial financial aid grant.

    FAQs
    • Payment plan options do not include any course-specific fees. These fees are subject to each student’s individual schedule and are billed to all families for payment throughout the school year.
    • Late fees are $40 per occurrence, and an ACH Failed Fee is $30.
    • Blackbaud charges a 3.12% processing fee for credit cards. If you use a banking account or deliver a check to Notre Dame, then there is no processing fee. Checks can be dropped off at the main office. Please write the student's name on the memo line.
    • Automatic Debit payments go into the process one business day prior to the due date and cannot be stopped by Blackbaud Tuition Management (BBTM). We recommend that changes to billing be made at least 3 business days prior to the due date by contacting BBTM.

We understand the significant financial commitment our families make. We also understand that each family’s financial circumstances are unique, and our tuition may be beyond what a family is able to budget for their student’s education.

  • Apply for Financial Aid

Families applying for financial aid must complete an application through Clarity, our third-party application provider.

A one-time application fee of $60 is required and collected by Clarity, however, this application may then be shared with any other school using the Clarity platform.

Income-based fee waivers are available for those who qualify, and Clarity will automatically apply those to your application if you do. You will complete one application per household, even if applying for multiple children.

When Should I Apply for Financial Aid?
After you submit your admissions application you should then file your financial aid application. The admissions application fee of $150 will be waived upon request. Deadlines will be posted later in the year.

Please note that we are unable to consider requests for aid once admissions decisions have been sent.

Who Needs to Complete the Financial Aid Application?
All parent(s)/guardian(s), whether custodial or non-custodial, must complete an application through Clarity. This is true even in the case of parent(s)/guardian(s) who are divorced, separated, or never married. Limited exceptions may be made for families experiencing extenuating circumstances. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you believe this may apply to you.

    Financial Aid Notification
Admitted families will receive their financial aid award notification on the same date as their acceptance to the School. For the 2025-26 school year, notifications have already been sent via email.

  • FAQs

Does applying for financial aid impact my child’s chances of being accepted to the school?

While Notre Dame is fortunate to have a generous budget for financial aid, requests for financial aid from qualified students always exceed available funds.

We therefore recommend that a family only apply for financial aid if they truly have no other avenues of meeting the costs of attendance, as applying for financial aid does place your student in a more competitive applicant pool due to the volume of requests.

It is the expectation of the school that a family will look towards all available avenues of meeting tuition obligations before applying for financial aid. This may include making changes to a family’s discretionary budget, drawing on their investments, or utilizing other economic resources that may be available to them.

If I apply as a full tuition family, can I change my mind and apply for aid later?

Families that apply for admission without applying for financial aid are ineligible for financial aid in the future unless a significant and permanent change in their financial circumstances can be demonstrated. Examples of circumstances where requests are typically considered include divorce, disability, or death of a financial provider.

How do I know if I will qualify for financial aid?

The financial aid calculation process takes into account many factors including income, assets, family size, and the number of children in tuition charging schools, amongst other things. For many families, annual income is weighted the most heavily in the process, with the number of students in tuition-charging schools also playing a significant role.

We appreciate that your time is valuable and that you likely do not want to apply for financial aid if you will not qualify.

While there are no set income limits, we can share that families with one child in a tuition-charging school, making over $450,000 in annual income, are unlikely to qualify for an award, even if they have very few assets. While families in the $350,000-$450,000 annual income range with one child in a tuition charging school might qualify for an award, they will likely be asked to contribute a substantial portion of the stated tuition.

Please know that these numbers are provided as a general guide and that each family’s award will differ.

Please contact the Financial Aid Office for more details or if you would like to discuss your particular circumstances.

Is financial aid available at all grade levels?

Families with students in all grades K-12 are eligible to participate in the Financial Aid Program, however, financial aid award does not renew every year. Families need to re-apply every year during the enrollment period.

How much aid is usually awarded to a family?

Our average award amount varies per year.

Does financial aid cover school fees and other expenses?

School fees, in general, are not covered by financial aid. Additionally, there are many covered non-tuition expenses.

I am a current Notre Dame family and would like to apply for financial aid. May I apply?

Families that have previously paid full tuition must demonstrate a significant and permanent change in their financial circumstances in order to qualify for the program.

    Do you offer merit scholarships?

We do not have a merit scholarship program at this time. Special talents in academics, athletics, or the arts and other outstanding achievements are taken into consideration during the admissions process and are part of determining if the Admissions Committee would like to offer a place at Notre Dame to a particular student. However, the amount of any financial aid award that is offered is based solely on a family’s financial circumstances.

School Bus Transportation: A Cost-Effective and Convenient Choice!

Did you know that enrolling in our school bus program can save you time and money? At $3,760 per year, our bus service offers a reliable and stress-free alternative to daily school drop-offs and pickups.

If your family lives 8 miles or more from campus, the cost of driving—including gas, maintenance, and wear on your vehicle—can quickly add up! According to the IRS standard mileage rate, families making two round trips per day would likely spend just as much, if not more, on transportation.

By choosing the school bus, you’ll enjoy:
✅ Savings on fuel and vehicle maintenance
✅ More time in your day—no extra trips to school!
✅ Safe, reliable transportation for your child
✅ A greener choice for our community—fewer cars on the road means lower carbon emissions and less traffic!

  • Bus Safety

Your student's safety is of paramount importance to school transportation.

Please observe the following bus safety requirements:
    • All students must be under adult supervision at the bus stop. Once the student has boarded the bus, the driver is in charge.
    • Parents may not board the bus.
    • Students must follow the driver’s instructions at all times.
    • Students must stay seated and use seat belts at all times.
    • No open food containers or eating is allowed on the bus. Water is permitted.
    • Ensure that your student knows the name of their bus stop.
    • Parents may never stop in the street to meet the bus or park illegally to drop off or pick up a student from the bus. Legally park and wait at the stop with or for your student, if necessary.
    • In the case of a bus accident, parents will be notified by the bus company or Notre Dame about appropriate safety measures. Per California State law, all accidents involving a school bus must be cleared by the CHP before proceeding as scheduled.

    • When crossing Woodman or Riverside, pedestrians coming to campus should use the correct crosswalk at the intersections.
    • Bicycle parking is available in the Woodman, Burns, and Huston lots.

    Parking Regulation and Fine Structure
Notre Dame's Conditional Use Permit with the City of Los Angeles and efforts to nurture good neighbor relations with our surrounding community require us to adhere to certain parking and transportation guidelines as outlined in the Notre Dame Parking and Transportation Plan. Because violations of this plan can endanger pedestrians, infringe upon good neighbor relation efforts, and jeopardize the school's ability to work constructively with the City of Los Angeles, repeated violations of the school's Parking and Transportation Plan will be subject to fines for repeated offenses.

The following are considered serious violations:
    1. Student or parent parking on residential streets: Ventura Canyon Avenue and Morrison Streets adjacent to campus.
    2. Dropping off and/or picking up passengers on the corner of Huston Street and Woodman Avenue, Sunnyslope, or in the adjacent neighborhoods.
    3. Making U-turns in the adjacent Huston/Sunnyslope neighborhood.
    4. Parking in non-designated parking spots on or off campus.
    5. Dropping off and/or picking up in non-designated locations on campus (e.g., Notre Dame fire lane, curbs marked as handicapped unless a placard is displayed, and any red-marked curbs

Violation fines will be assessed to employee payroll accounts as follows:
    1. First violations will receive a warning notification
    2. Second violations will receive a $100 fine
    3. Third violations will receive a $250 fine and will require senior administration review
    4. Fourth violations will receive a $1,000 fine, senior administration review, and may require revocation of on-campus driving/parking privileges*
*Since repeated violations of the Parking and Transportation Plan reflect a sufficient inconsistency with school values, Notre Dame may choose not to extend an invitation to renew school enrollment with respect to any family who has accrued repeated violations.

We cannot overstate the importance of making drop-off and pick-up more efficient, of increasing our carpool numbers, or the necessity of being sensitive to the impact of Notre Dame drivers on the neighborhood.

We ask for your fullest cooperation and participation in this plan and that you share it with anyone who is designated to drive on or around campus.

List of 5 items.

  • Cafeteria Overview

Ordinarily, hours are generally 6:45 am to 4:00 pm.  If business is slow on a Gold Day, the cafeteria may close a little earlier.

The cafeteria is open until approximately 5:30 pm during Study Week – the week before finals.
  • Lunch Account

Every student has an account.  An account can be activated simply by depositing money into it.  When a student makes a purchase, he or she will enter their student ID and the items chosen will be deducted from the balance in the account.

    Pre-Paid Lunch Account

A pre-paid lunch account is a Point of Sale system that holds a student’s money in reserve until it is used to make purchases.

    Lunch Account Activation
A deposit must be made into the student account.  This can be made by cash, a check (made payable to Hanna-Que, Inc.), online through EZSchoolPay.com, or a credit card presented in person.

    Credit Card Usage
We accept Master Card and Visa.  Credit/Debit cards can be used in person in the cafeteria (minimum $25 deposit), or deposits can be made online at www.EZSchoolPay.com.  Credit cards are not accepted for individual purchases.

    Check Usage

Unfortunately, our bank frowns on changing the payee on a personal check.  If your student brings in a check written to NDHS, it will be returned and another check will need to be submitted.  Again, make checks payable to “Hanna-Que, Inc.

  • Departing Senior Lunch Accounts

Seniors should be paying off negative balances or using up low balances.  Parents of seniors who graduate with a balance over $10 will be reimbursed by check in June.  Seniors will forfeit balances of less than $10.

We encourage seniors to use up their small balances. If your senior has a sibling who will be attending ND next semester, their remaining balance (in any amount) will be transferred to their sibling.

There are still students in all grades who have a negative lunch account balance.  Toward the end of the school year, the cashiers will be instructed not to serve students who have a negative balance.

Please have your Senior check their balance or use EZSchoolPay to monitor lunch account balances and set a reminder for a low balance.

If there is a special need for a family to receive assistance, please contact Brenda Hanna at (818) 933-3657 or hanna@ndhs.org.
