Notre Dame High School is pleased to announce that Alec Moss has been selected as Athletic Director, effective the 2019-20 school year. Moss will take over from Kevin Rooney who has been the Athletic Director at Notre Dame for the past 39 years. Rooney will continue as head varsity football coach and return for his 40th season leading Knights football.
Moss is a Class of 2000 alumnus of NDHS, where he was an All-CIF football and baseball player before attending Xavier University. He was co-captain of the Xavier baseball team his senior year and graduated with a degree in Communication Arts. He has been a part of the Notre Dame administration team as Director of Admissions since 2009. In that role, Moss has overseen a period of strong enrollment demand and a competitive admissions process. In addition, Moss has served as the assistant varsity baseball coach at NDHS.
"Our search process attracted many qualified and experienced candidates from across the country,” said NDHS President Brett Lowart. "Alec impressed us with his loyalty, enthusiasm, leadership skill, and vision for our athletic program. We are sure that he will make a great impression and build on Kevin Rooney's legacy of success and integrity."
In accepting the position, Moss said “Notre Dame High School is a very special place that has played a huge role in my life as a student athlete and as a working adult. I am so proud that I can continue to work at the place I love with the people I love. I will work hard every day to continue to grow the wonderful athletic department that Notre Dame High school has always had. The growth and experience of our student athletes will be a focus, as well as continuing to win at a high level. I am ready for this challenge and look forward to great days ahead.”
