Orientation for parents of freshmen is also on Wednesday, August 14 and begins at 6:00 p.m. while the student orientation is in progress. Parents are asked to check-in at the tables outside the cafeteria beginning at 5:45 p.m., pick up registration packets, visit the student club booths, and enjoy some light refreshments in the gym from 5:45 - 6:15 p.m. (Please bring a refillable water bottle with you to help us work towards the goal of reducing plastic waste.)
We will begin the official presentations at 6:15 p.m. in the gym and then rotate parents through a series of information sessions across campus that include information on parent technology for viewing student grades and attendance, disciplinary policies, an opportunity to meet the freshmen counselors and campus ministry team, extracurricular offerings for students, and opportunities for parent involvement.
This is a very informative evening, and valuable information will be presented so it is essential that every freshman has at least one parent or guardian in attendance. Freshmen parents will be receiving an email link to register for this event. Please register as soon as possible, and no later than Friday, August 9 so that we have an accurate count for refreshments and seating. If you have not received this link by Monday, August 5, please contact Julia Pérez, in the admissions office at (818) 933-3632.
Note: parents are encouraged to bring a smartphone or iPad to the orientation for use during the technology rotation.
Parents will be reunited with their students at the end of the evening, approximately 8:45 p.m., on the baseball field.
A reminder that parking is always a challenge, so please be sure to allow enough time to find parking on adjacent streets or across the street in the open parking lot behind the Bank of America building.
